City of Niagara Falls
Weeping Tile Removal Assistance Program (WRAP)
Rebated up to
$5,200
100% of eligible costs, taxes included
The only one of these programmes that pays the whole bill rather than a share. Get your weeping tile off the sanitary sewer, put a sump pump in its place and a backwater valve on the line, and the City covers 100% of it up to the two caps — which on a typical job means you pay nothing.
Costs covered
Weeping tile + sump pump — up to $4,000
- Disconnecting the weeping tile from the sanitary sewer
- Sump pump installation, discharging to the ground surface
- Labour, materials and equipment
- Building permit fees
Backwater valve — up to $1,200
- Backwater valve installation on the sanitary line
- Labour, materials and equipment
- Building permit fees
Single-family detached or semi-detached homes in the Niagara Falls urban area, connected to the municipal sanitary sewer. The two caps are separate, not a shared $5,200 pot. One rebate per property, and funding is first-come, first-served while it lasts. Your approval is good for 6 months, and the money arrives about 6 weeks after your claim documents are in.
